The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may have sealed off three properties belonging to immediate past governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam in Makurdi.
As reported on Saturday INDEPENDENT, the properties are his residential home in HUDCO quarters, the Metropolitan Hotel and a residential building (still under construction) close to the river Benue.
It was further gathered that the sealing of the properties is not unconnected with alleged misappropriation of N107 billion during the eight years of Suswam as governor of the state.
The Justice Elizabeth Kpojime Panel of Inquiry had submitted that 52 persons among them Suswam return various sums of money amounting to N107 billion.
According to INDEPENDENT, its correspondent went round the properties but was told the EFCC officials sealed off the properties on Thursday and left for Abuja.
At the Metropolitan Hotel, the guards told reported that the manager of the hotel was not on seat following the sealing off of the facility.
Efforts to reach the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Michael Gusa to confirm the reason for sealing of the properties, were futile.
