House Democrats unveil article of impeachment against Trump

House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump on Monday, accusing him of inciting insurrection at the Capitol building on January 6.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told GOP colleagues on Friday that the earliest a Senate trial could likely be held would be on January 19, according to a memo obtained by several news outlets.

The House will convene at 9 am ET on Wednesday to consider the article of impeachment against Trump, Rep. Steny Hoyer told Democratic lawmakers on Monday


– House Republicans blocked an initial effort on Monday to pass a resolution calling on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. A full vote on the measure is expected on Tuesday, according to reports
