Promote a post through your business profile, instagram

When you promote a post through your business profile, instagram uses the connected Facebook account to identify the Facebook page and connected ad account. If you switch the Facebook account connected to your business profile on instagram, it can potentially lead to permission errors.

For example, if the Facebook profile connected to your business profile on instagram doesn't have the right permissions to the Facebook page or connected ad account your instagram is connected to, you may not be able to promote your post.

To connect a different Facebook account that has the appropriate permissions to the page and ad account:

1. Unlink your Facebook account from your business profile
2. Go to your instagram account settings
3. Scroll down and tap linked accounts
4. Tap Facebook
5. Tap unlink account
6. Log out of Facebook
7. Open your Facebook app
8. Tap navigation
9. Tap log out
10. Log into a Facebook account that has the required permissions to the page or ad account

Note: if you're using a device that uses iOS (ex. iPhone, iPad, touch), you must first navigate to (www.facebook.com), using the safari browser to check if you're logged in. If you are, you should log out from there.

Link your Facebook page to your business profile on instagram

1. Go to your instagram account settings
2. Scroll down and tap linked accounts
3. Tap Facebook
4. Log into the same Facebook account you linked in step 2
5. Try promoting the post again
6. To switch the ad account connected to your business profile:
7. Go to settings
8. Tap payments
9. Tap Facebook ad account
10. Try promoting a post again
