COVID-19 pandemic & Our Lifestyle I

The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic and Our Outlook to Life

By Dele Agbogun

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our world and totally changed our outlook to life, globally.

I have sat down to take a look at the impact on relationships and the "wedding industry". It has greatly impacted these two the same way it has impacted different sectors of our economy globally.

Narrowing down on relationships, quite a number of weddings have had to be placed on hold this period.

Many flights have been cancelled as most airports have been shut down.

Hotels and resorts have been shut down and many events have been postponed indefinitely.

Wedding planners have put their services on hold, everyone is observing how the situation unfolds.

The fabric industry, the fashion designers, caterers and more importantly the “To-Be Couples” that are yet to tie the knots.

It has broken the hearts of many, some people are wondering why this "so called"/ pandemic has to come about at this time. It has completely altered the beautiful plans laid ahead since last year by some people.

Hhhmmmn! It is really really painful I must say. It is good for all that are affected to draw strength at these trying times.

1. As painful and difficult as this might be, be grateful you are alive. Irrespective of what has been spent and the serious disruptions to your plans, it is when we are alive that we have hope of getting married.

2. I will also like to say that you still have your partner. The story was not that your partner is no more. As upsetting and painful as this can be, you and your partner can agree never to allow your emotions to overwhelm you to the point of affecting your relationship or wellbeing.

3. Instead of allowing the situation to make you feel bitter, you and your partner can look at how to enhance your friendship further and get to know each other some more. You might not be able have a 100% knowledge of who your partner is. I have been married for over seventeen years now,and we are progressively  getting better every year.

4. This whole situation can be overwhelming, requiring you to seek for help. Do not stay in that overwhelming state, talk to a professional counselor. It will help you gain strength and perspective. You can reach out to me via any of my social media platforms. I am available and always happy to help.

You will experience bliss!
