Nigeria vs. South Africa Quarter Final Match

The one time champion who hosted and won the tournament in 1996 AFCON Bafana Bafana of South Africa will face the three-time African champions Nigeria today 10th July, 2019 by 20:00 hr Nigeria time in Cairo International Stadium.

The Super Eagles will be hoping to avoid a defeat from Bafana Bafana of South Africa, who edge-out the Pharaoh of Egypt, the host in the ongoing AFCON 2019.

Actions return to the pitch for the remaining eight teams in the competition.

History

South Africa beat Nigeria away in their opening match of the AFCON qualifiers in June 2017, and were held 1-1 in the return fixture.
‘‘Nigeria is one of the best teams in the tournament and it’s going to be a difficult match,’‘ conceded South Africa’s coach, Stuart Baxter.
