Why would one have to kill the other in an intimate relationship or in marriages after swearing an oat? It just so prick my heart each time I heard it. Wife kills Husband, Husband kills wife...
Having said that, there is this common saying "What a man can do, a woman can do better!" It seems women and now taking the lead in domestic violence this days unlike days gone by when men were in the news for such crime.
Imagine the death of one chief custom officer who died days ago as a result of his wife temperament not being controlled because she suspect him cheating on her and she decided to fried him with HOT OIL
If you can not stand it, take a walk. It is better to be a fool and not regret for the rest of your life than being wise and regret your every action having blood stain in your hand and not been able to forgive yourself eternally.
