Entertainment: Senegalese film, Félicité dominates AMAA 2017 (Full list of winners)

Senegalese film “Félicité,” took home seven awards from the 13th African Movie Academy Awards held on Saturday, July 15, at the EKO Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.


The movie which tells the story of a woman who sings in a bar in Kinshasa, dazzled movie fans at the awards, carting away awards for the Best Actress, Best Actor in a supporting role and Best film among others.

The event was hosted by Nse Ikpe Etim.
Nigeria’s Akin Omotoso won the best director award for his work in “Vaya”, beating Daouda Coulibaly, Steve Gukas, Mira Nair, Izu Ojukwu, Daryen Joshua, Alain Gomis, Ala Eddine Slim and Said Khallaf to the prize.

Ace Nollywood comedy actor, Nkem Owoh also received a Lifetime Achievement Award while “76” won the Lagos State Best Nigerian film award.
