SPORTS: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Plans To Be Reveal By Manchester United Next Week

Manchester United are set to reveal next week if Zlatan Ibrahimovic is staying at Old Trafford.

The one-year United contract Ibrahimovic, 35, signed upon joining from Paris Saint-Germain last summer will expire on June 30.

There has been no news from either the club or the player about whether he will extend his stay, but a decision could be revealed next week with the Premier League set to publish retained and released lists from all 20 top-flight teams.

United's list should show whether Ibrahimovic has agreed a new contract, has had an offer made to him, or will be released at the end of his current deal.

The former Sweden striker's agent, Mino Raiola, has said his client would like to remain at Old Trafford for at least another year.

But on Thursday sources told ESPN FC that United have cooled their interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann because of doubts over Ibrahimovic's long-term future.

The club are not expecting Ibrahimovic to play again until the New Year at the earliest after he underwent surgery to correct knee-ligament damage suffered during the Europa League quarterfinal with Anderlecht in April.

It has prompted United to make signing a replacement No. 9 their top priority this summer, rather than triggering the €100 million buyout clause in Griezmann's contract.

United do still retain an interest in the France international, but out-and-out strikers including Everton's Romelu Lukaku, Torino's Andrea Belotti, Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and Monaco's Kylian Mbappe are now higher up the wanted list.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 games in his first season at United before injury prematurely ended his campaign.

He has been linked with Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy, although Raiola has suggested his client will stay in Europe, even if it is not with United.
