CANCER RELATED DISEASES

  • Bladder cancer- Cancer of the urinary bladder.
  • Blood cancer (Leukemia) – uncontrolled division of the white blood corpuscles of the blood, thereby reducing the capability to fight diseases.
  • Brain cancer – Cancer of the brain.
  • Breast cancer – Cancer that is formed in the breasts (usually affects female)
  • Cervical cancer – cancer of the cervix (lower part of the uterus – affects female.
  • Colorectal cancer – cancer of the colon or rectum – which is located at the end of the digestive tract.
  • Esophageal cancer - Cancer of the esophagus usually due to smoking, heavy alcohol use, chewing of tobacco and cancerous agents.
  • Kidney cancer – Cancer of the kidney
  • Liver cancer- cancer of the Liver
  • Lung cancer – occurs in the lungs – high prevalence in smokers.
  • Lymphoma – Cancer of the Lymphatic system.
  • Melanoma – cancer of melanoma (melanocytes in the eyes)
  • Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma – A type of Lymphoma.
  • Pancreatic cancer – cancer of the pancreas
  • Prostate cancer- cancer of the prostate – a gland that produces seminal fluid – affects males usually over 60 years.
  • Ovary cancer – Cancer of ovaries - females
  • Skin (dermatological) cancer- cancer of the skin – usually due to too much exposure to sunlight.
  • Thyroid cancer- Cancer of thyroid gland
  • Uterine cancer- Cancer of uterus- usually females in menopause stage.

However, a few basic treatments are given for information

Chemotherapy – Specialised medicines given orally as pills or capsules are given intravenously or through special devices through a vein in the chest.

Laser therapy – In laser therapy, high-intensity light is used to treat cancer and other illnesses. Lasers can be used to shrink or destroy tumors or precancerous growths. In general, Lasers are most commonly used to treat superficial cancers (cancers on the surface of the body or the lining of internal organs such as basal cell skin cancer and the very early stages of like cervical, penile, vaginal, vulvar etc.

Radiation therapy - High doses of radiation is given to kill or shrink the tumor.

Stem cell therapy – restoration of stem cells which are destroyed by Chemotherapy or other methods during cancer treatment.

Esophageal cancer - Cancer of the esophagus usually due to smoking, heavy alcohol use, chewing of tobacco and cancerous agents.
